Say what? Yeah, really! I got a hot tip the other day (thanks Andrew) that there was actually going to be some surf action at Sand Key beach this week. So I trucked it on down there with my trusty camera and tripod, and caught a little hang ten action.
Okay, back to reality now. No, we don't get 8 foot curlers here on the Gulf of Mexico, but every once in a while we get a weather system that produces some surf-worthy action. So you've got to give credit to these people who come out here and make the best of what little they get. It was really pretty fun to watch. More fun to do, no doubt, but still fun to watch.
If this gets you all fired up to indulge in some surfing fantasies for a little while, you might want to check out Surfer Magazine, or Surfing Magazine. If you want to be able to catch the action, from the sand or a board, you might want to check out Surfline.com for the latest Sand Key Beach surf report.
You have to admit, even though you really can't see any really big waves in this shot, this guy makes it look good. Very surfer. There were probably 15 or 20 guys out there altogether. This guy was one of the better ones, but they all seemed to be having a good time. So now I will be looking for the signs in the future, and heading down to Sand Key when the Surf's Up! Check back tomorrow for a couple more surfing pictures.
