If you had a chance to get down to the Brighthouse 2010 Clearwater Super Boat Championship Festival, and if you were taking pictures and photographs, you might have caught these cool Dodge race cars in your frame. These are two cars of the Dick Landy Racing Team. Dandy Dick, I think I saw on one of the license plates. You might have to click the pic to see it larger if you want to read it.
It was really cool to see these hot rod muscle cars in amongst all the offshore racing powerboats. But maybe hot rod muscle cars is the wrong term? On the Official Dick Landy website, it has good information about him and the cars he built and raced.
They had two more vintage Mopar race monsters there and, of all things, a very hot, sleek, completely different Lamborghini! But that is for a different day. Yes, that's right, you'll just have to come back and see it later! :p
But in the meantime, you might find it interesting to know that Dick Landy was quite a name in Pro Stock Drag Racing. I mean, you can even go to Amazon.com and buy a Photo Archive book with a picture of him racing one of his cars, on the front cover! And to top that off, Hot Wheels made a model of his 1965 Dodge Coronet! Yeah, if you want to check it out, here are the links:
