What is it about a Super Boat (Superboat?) that inspires people to ham it up and become super boat show models? I dunno, but I'm pretty sure it's contagious! What a hoot. Everyone was having a good time, checking out these enormous, powerful offshore race boats. It was really amazing. This is SuperHeat #52. What an awesome boat.
This was the scene Friday evening at Coachman Park, on the Clearwater waterfront, where the super boats were staging in their 'dry pits' before race day. Lots of people running around getting things ready, and probably resting from whatever long drive they just completed to get down here for the races. I can't imagine what it takes to get into, and then sustain the effort of, offshore racing. Wow.
The girls and the daddy seemed to be having more fun that some of us. But it was fun watching them 'strike a pose'. Kids, ya gotta love 'em. In case you're wondering, I figure this boat can go about a gazillion miles an hour.
