Clearwater Beach, Florida: Interesting Sign - Crabby Bill's

Interesting sign, don't you think? Well, it makes more sense when you consider this: This sign is on the side of the Crabby Bill's seafood restaurant on Clearwater Beach. The restaurant is right next to the Clearwater Municipal Marina. At the marina are lots of charter and day fishing boats. So lots of people come back from a day on a fishing boat, with a fish that they don't always know what to do with! Pretty cool, eh?

Clearwater Beach, Florida: Crabby Bill's: "Don't Worry, Be Crabby"

Crabby Bill's is something of a classic seafood fixture in these parts. Although I have not eaten at the Clearwater Beach location, I have fond memories of eating at the original location on Indian Rocks Beach. This Clearwater Beach location is conveniently located just as you come onto the beach from the Clearwater Memorial Causeway. You can't miss it!

There are numerous other locations also. Check out their website. Oh, and their tag line? 'Don't Worry, Be Crabby'! Gotta love it.

Clearwater Beach, Florida: Dirty Little Secret?

Okay, I admit it, when I saw this contraption for the first time, I felt like I had discovered a dirty little secret. Then I felt so naive for having never realized that the beach isn't that clean naturally. Oh well.

Now, when you get past all that hooey, this thing is pretty cool. It's called a Barber Surf Rake. What a neat idea. A mechanized rake for picking up everything from cigarette butts to rotting seaweed to the occasional dead fish. Yeah, not too shabby at all.

Check out the volleyball nets in the background... nice warm concept, isn't it? Well, freezing tonight (a curse word here in Florida) but back to the upper 70's for the weekend!

As our weather finally actually starts to feel like winter, I feel compelled to post this picture that I took on Clearwater Beach, not all that long ago. This was taken from Pier 60, looking North. Beach lovers come in all shapes and sizes. It's a beautiful thing to watch them enjoying the warm sun, sand, waves on the beach here. This is summer photography at its best, even though it was taken long after summer had officially ended. :D

Clearwater Beach, Florida: ... And The Living Is Easy

Not a snowblower in sight (Neva). Hot sun, warm sand, the tranquil sound of waves on the shore. Welcome to Clearwater Beach, on the Gulf Of Mexico. This is what winter is like in Florida, sometimes.

Clearwater Beach, Florida: Municipal Marina: Gorgeous Sailboat

I happened to catch sight of this beautiful sailboat when I was enjoying a photography safari at the Municipal Marina on Clearwater Beach. Wow. I like it. I mean, I don't know enough about sailboats, or boats in general, to tell you what kind it is, or if it is a good boat... but I do know when I think something looks good.

This boat just plain looks good to me. I can imagine what it would be like to have her out on the water, with a fine breeze filling her sails, and blowing across my face. Yeah, I mean, an 80 degrees F kind of breeze... like the weather we are having here now. It's supposed to get a bit colder later this week, but in the meantime, let yourself enjoy this sexy boat for now, and imagine lounging on deck in your shorts and bare feet, letting the sun warm you, body and soul.

Hey, New Year's eve tomorrow... are you going to a party, or will you celebrate at home? Either way, I wish you a very Happy New Year!
