Clearwater Beach Florida: Clearwater Beach Recreation Center

I thought this was the neatest scene... after I saw what I see now. At first, it was just an ordinary photograph of the basketball courts at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center. But then I saw the basketball players that I hadn't noticed at first.

Actually it was not the players I saw, so much as their HUGE hands on very loooooong arms, shooting toward the hoop. Wow, pretty cool if you ask me. So, when you come to Clearwater Beach, whether it be a relaxing Florida vacation, or a relocation scouting trip, stop by and see if these basketball players are here... usually in the afternoons I think!

Clearwater Beach Florida: The Sunrise Resort North

I spotted this pretty little place while exploring more of Clearwater Beach last weekend. I really don't know much about it, but it looks really nice, and I like their location. They are right across the street from a part of Clearwater Beach that I really like.

They have a website with plenty of information about the facility; click here. From this location, you are only a few minutes from Outback Steakhouse, Frenchy's, The Beachcomber, Pier 60, the Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina, and lots more!

Clearwater Beach: Florida Living At Its Finest: Like A Resort Vacation

I was heading onto the sand at Clearwater Beach last Friday when I noticed this beautiful scene of color. Set against the backdrop of white powdery sand and not-a-care-in-the-world blue sky, these beach cabanas shouted RESORT and VACATION and I AM DRIFTING IN A SEA OF RELAXATION. It made me want to go get some sort of tropical fruity umbrella drink and some resort clothes and chuck all my plans for the day.

Alas, I would not have gotten so many wonderful photos that day, had I succumbed to temptation. But fear not, you will get to see the many wonderful pictures of Clearwater Beach, and the Clearwater Municipal Marina, and much more, in the days and weeks ahead. And I will continue to take my 'time in the sun' here and there as it fits in my schedule.

Clearwater Beach Florida: Just A Little Construction

What a surprise to see this 'car' drive by while I was standing at a light on Clearwater Beach recently. I had been snapping some cool shots of The Sandpearl and Belle Harbor when I noticed her stopped at the light. I smiled to myself, and then remembered the camera in my hands. I heard her cut loose with a happy hoot as she drove by. What fun I thought!

Clearwater Beach Florida: Target Zone: Pier 60

Okay, so I have been talking about Pier 60 now and then, and all about our beautiful Clearwater Beach, here in Florida. Is that like describing a wonderful treasure to you, without telling you were to find it, or giving you a map? Well, consider this the "X" on your treasure map! X marks the spot! (And if you're a Lat & Long kind of person, 27°58'37.93" N, 82°49'43.64" W marks the spot)

If you are a planning a Florida vacation from another state, or country, or even just another town, you can put a big X on your map where Pier 60 is. And if you are planning a relocation to the area (Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Pinellas County), then this is your target for as soon as you get your bed setup and the moving van is out of the driveway. After all, this is part of why you are here, isn't it?

Clearwater Beach Florida: Clearwater Municipal Marina: Intrinsic from Jackson, WI

This beauty is the Instrinsic, from Jackson, WI. I could not find anyone to ask for more information about her. Suffice it to say, it is a beautiful yacht, in repose at the Clearwater Municipal Marina, on Clearwater Beach. I was amazed to think of a Wisconsin yacht being all the way down here in sunny Clearwater Beach, Florida. But then I thought... if I owned the Intrinsic, I would like to think that when things got cold in Wisconsin, I could remove myself to Florida for a much warmer winter!

Clearwater Beach Florida: Pier 60: Sunshine and Good Times!

Taking a walk on Pier 60 this past Friday, I noticed these two having a wonderful day on the pier. While I was there, we saw dolphins, a stingray, various fish (including sheepshead), pelicans, seagulls, grackles, and pigeons. The temperature was about 82F, with a light breeze. It was an amazing day when you consider it was December 7th!

But that is what Clearwater Beach is all about. If you are a local, you know this, and it might be WHY you are a local. If you are planning a vacation to Florida, or even considering relocating to Florida, this is why so many of us live in this area. It is so beautiful.
